This spring has been a busy and exciting time for our youth. For the first time, Centerpoint Church is sending a group out to Briercrest University to take part in YouthQuake! In order to make this trip a reality we partnered with you, the body of believers at Centerpoint to fundraise. The youth baked a bunch of treats and hosted a bake sale in February, and then in March they spent a ton of time working on preparing for our chili lunch fundraiser. Both the bake sale, and the chili fundraiser were incredibly successful events and gave our youth a meaningful opportunity to experience the love and support of our church community.
Opportunities like these help to build and grow the faith of our youth by giving them a chance to serve others, and to see the generosity of our church. We are excited for this opportunity to take a group to YouthQuake, and are praying that it will be an opportunity for our youth to grow and develop further in their faith.
Alongside these activities, we have been studying Scripture and digging into God’s Word. Throughout the year, our volunteer team has had the incredible joy of walking alongside our youth, discipling them, and seeing them grow and mature in their faith. Being able to serve in this ministry is an incredible blessing, and a meaningful way to serve the Church, and to serve our Father.
We have also enjoyed some fun activities, like Flying Squirrel, Lasertopia, and Activate. These low pressure events have proven to be a great way for our youth to bring their friends, and get them connected. A significant portion of our group is made up of teens who are not regularly attending Centerpoint, making this ministry an effective outreach into our community. It provides a safe space where students can build friendships, encounter God, and grow their faith. This is only made possible by the continued support of our church body, both through volunteering, and prayerful giving.
As we continue through the rest of the year, we ask for your prayers for the youth who come out to our group, that their hearts would be open to God’s Word. We also ask for prayer for their schools and communities. Many of these teens are navigating difficult circumstances, and we pray that God would bring healing, restoration, and hope to their lives, and that He would use us as tools in His good works.
